Richard C. “Red” Buterbaugh, 74, of 158 Davis St. Bradford, passed away Saturday, May 29th, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Born September 7, 1935, in Indiana, he was a son of the late William and Florence (Everett) Buterbaugh. He attended schools in Indiana.
On June 18, 1966 in Bradford , he married Janet (Johnson-Nellis) Buterbaugh who survives.
On April 9, 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corp. he was honorably discharged on April 8, 1957.
He was employed at Goodman Services for over 35 years, after he retired he worked at Taylor Roofing. Mr. Buterbaugh enjoyed attending his grandsons sporting events.
Surviving in addition to his wife Janet, are five daughters: Theresa Veite, Karen (Tom) Spittler, Gloria Buterbaugh, Lois (Luis) Santiago, Melinda (Todd) Hale, all of Bradford, four sons: John (Patricia) Nellis, Jeff (Steph) Buterbaugh, Richard Buterbaugh, all of Bradford, and Edward Nellis of Erie, a sister, Florence Quigly of Sikesville, two brothers, Raymond Everett of Indiana, Bill Buterbaugh of Troutsville, 23 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday June 2nd, from 3-5 & 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. E. Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, June 3rd, with Rev. LeRoy Beckes pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Private burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
