Patricia L. “Pat” Kocjancic, 72, of 117 Dawson St. died Monday evening at the Lutheran Home at Kane, where she had briefly resided.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1937 in Kane, the daughter of the late Leon and Lucille (Cook) Murthough. On Nov 5, 1960, at the St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, she married Edward Kocjancic, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kocjancic spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. Prior to having her children, she had been employed at the Hamlin Bank in Kane. She was a member of the St. Callistus Catholic Church, the CD of A Court Callistus # 66 and the Red Hats. She served on the committee for the Kane High School Alumni Memorial Award and also served in several charitable positions throughout her life.
She is survived by three sons: Edward and his wife Carol, Michael, and Jeffrey and his wife Christine, all of Kane; one daughter, Tricia (Jack) Bell of Kane; one sister, Carol (Kent) Wilson of Kane, ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Margaret “Peg” Roth.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home in Kane on Thursday (June24) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Callistus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski as celebrant. Entombment will be in the St. Callistus Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Callistus Catholic Church or the Kane High school Alumni Memorial Award.
