Concetta “Connie” Rose Bango, 85, of Smethport, PA

Concetta “Connie” Rose Bango, 85, of Smethport, died Friday (July 30, 2010) in the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.

She was born March 2, 1925 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Angelo and Josephine Polito Strano. On Sept. 14, 1946, in Punxsutawney, PA, she married Joseph Louis Bango, who died February 9, 2003.

Mrs. Bango was a graduate of St. Cosmas of Damian High School, Punxsutawney, and had worked at Sylvania GTE, Emporium, Airco-Speer Electronics, Bradford, and Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center, Smethport, as a nurse’s aide for many years.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, the Alter Rosary Society, St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Women, and St. Elizabeth’s Choir. She also enjoyed social events at Lakeview Senior Care and Living Center, Smethport. Connie was a loving and caring person to her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by

three sons: Denny (Robin) Bango of Smethport, PA, Thomas (Michele) Bango of Russell, PA, Brian (Valerie Radtke) Bango of Smethport, PA

Grandchildren: Erin Hunt, Stephanie Wharton, Andrew, Brandon, Ashley, and Matthew Bango, and Steven Hartzell.

Great Grandchildren: Audrey, Keegan, Adriana, and Lyla

three sisters: Pauline Ferraro of Punxsutawney, PA, Nina Nase of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Altheide of Buffalo, NY

two brothers: Angelo Strano of Punxsutawney, PA, Andrew Strano of Greece, NY

and many nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 2, at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, with the Rev. Vincent P. Cieslewicz, pastor, as celebrant. Committal will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport. A Christian Wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
