Robert L. Wright, 83, of Cyclone, died Saturday (August 29, 2009) in the Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
He was born Oct 28, 1925 in Eldred, a son of Raymond M. and Anna Fowler Wright. On June 28, 1947, in Cyclone, PA, he married Virginia R. Woodring, who died Sept. 12, 2007.
Mr. Wright attended Eldred schools, and was a Pumper in the oil fields for many years. He first worked for the Tidewater Oil Company, then Gibson Oil, and finally, Pennzoil, from where he retired in 1990.
He was a member of Hilltop Fire Dept. for many years, and the Hilltop Ambulance Service, and was an avid hunter, and enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by

granddaughter, Amy (Andy) Bishop of Grove City, PA; Grandson, Tim (Carla) Wright of Bradford, PA; Granddaughter, Melissa Wright of Columbus, GA; Stepgrandson, Marine Capt. John Goble in Afghanistan; Stepgrandson, Jason Goble of Oakdale, PA; 4 great grandchildren
two sisters: Luella Cordner of Eldred, PA, Florence Fitzsimmons of Eldred, PA, and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Albert Wright, one brother, Raymond Wright, and one sister, Clara Nupher.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 am from the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn A. Hamilton, pastor of the Cyclone Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.
