Lula J. Shelley, 84, formerly of 35 Main Street, Lewis Run, passed away Friday, November 13th, 2009 at The Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born February 12, 1925, in Rixford, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Grace (Berg) Parker.
On January 31, 1944 in Allegany, NY. she married Clarence E. “Clair” Shelley who died July 15, 1997.
Mrs. Shelley attended Otto High School. She had been employed at Corning Glass Works as a quality control inspector and retired after 50 years of service.
She was a member of the Cyclone United Methodist Church and attended the Foursquare Gospel Church. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary in Smethport and Bradford.
Surviving are six daughters, Susan (the late Hal) Perry of Bradford, Nancy (Paul) Griffith of Buckhannon, WV, Helen (Richard) Sherman of Bradford, Sandra (Jon) Grey of Allegany, NY, JoAnna (Billy) Jeffries of Buckhannon, WV, and Laura (Steven) Hixenbaugh of Lewis Run, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Edward C. Shelley, two sisters, and three brothers.
Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the Foursquare Gospel Church at which time a Memorial Service will be held with Rev. William Watson pastor officiating.
