First Area Swine Flu Death Reported in Potter County

Potter County has its first confirmed case of a death caused by swine flu, state health authorities say.

The news comes via a Friday morning update by H1N1 in PA, a Web site set up by the state Department of Health.

The state Department of Health did not have anyone available to comment on the situation Sunday evening. The Web site does not list the identities, ages or specific places of residence of swine flu victims.

McKean, Elk and Cameron counties have yet to see an H1N1-related fatality.
