At 7:08 am this morning, an attempted robbery was reported at the Sheetz convenience store in Saint Mary’s.
The store went on lock-down shortly after the actor left the store.
The actor left the store using the side door wearing a green fleece and a hat. The man was white, in his late 20′s, heavy set, possibly with brown hair, under 6 ft tall. Employee’s said that the man took $300 or less. The man indicated that he may have had a weapon in his pocket.
Search dogs were called into the area to help to search for the actor.
Saint Marys police, and Pennsylvania State police were dispatched to the scene.
Once on scene, police looked at surveillance footage to see if the actor had used a vehicle to leave.
The first update from the scene said that the man fled on foot toward Depot Street, and that the man threatened that he had a weapon, but never showed it to anyone.
The suspect was ID’d at the scene, and was reported to be on probation.
At around 9:15, all Mckean County PD’s were alerted to check their faxes for “be on the lookout” information on the suspect, stating that he may be in a green Bonneville with a small child in the car.
**UPDATE**
The suspects name is Edmund Ambuski. The Bonneville that he is driving is reported to have PA registration HHG-9815. The small child that was reported to likely be with him was determined to be 16 months old.
