A family medicine specialist has joined the medical staff at Smethport Family Practice, a satellite of Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC). Rhonda Chilson, BRMC’s Director of Practice Management, said Fayyaz Qadir, M.D., is now accepting patients at the practice located at 406 Franklin St. in Smethport. “We’re pleased to round out the staff complement for our patients in Smethport and surrounding communities,” Mrs. Chilson said.
In April, hospital officials announced the departure of longtime physician Ferdinand Magno, M.D., from the practice due to relocating from the area. In the interim, patients had been served by Robert C. Guadagno, M.D., on a temporary basis. In addition, on permanent staff is Bonnie Scanlan, MS, CRNP.
Dr. Qadir obtained his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed his Family Practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
Most recently, the physician provided family medicine services at Hennepin County Medical Center and also served as a physician assistant at Memorial Hermann Hospital System in Houston, Texas. Dr. Qadir also served as a compliance officer for six hospitals in Texas.
Smethport Family Practice provides comprehensive family care, including laboratory services, sports physicals, child immunizations, women’s health services and the management of chronic conditions. New patients are being accepted and appointments can be made by calling 814-887-5655.
