James P. Runyan, 60, of 312 Pine Run Road, Lewis Run, passed away Sunday, February 7th, 2010 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 22, 1949 in Bradford he was a son of the late William A. and Alfreeda J. (Gordon) Runyan.
He married Erica (Izbinski) Runyan who survives.

Mr. Runyan was a 1967 graduate of Bradford High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged. After the service he graduated with his Bachelors of Arts Degree in History from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, the schools first class of bachelors degree’s. He later receivedĀ Associates Degree’s in Petroleum Engineering and Computer Science.
He formerly worked at Pennzoil Company, Bradford High School, and he currently was working as a Customer Relations/ Case Collectors Club at W. R. Case Cutlery.
He was a member of St. Bernard Church, Masonic Lodge of Bradford, as well as a 32 degree member of the Coudersport Consistory, he was a member and past commander of the VFW Post 212, the NRA and the Italian Club. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and NASCAR fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Robert W. Sunafrank of Erie, and Edward A. Sunafrank of Bradford, two sisters: Melissa Gae Colligan of Bradford, and Susan P. Runyan-Drnach of Pittsburgh, one brother, William G. Runyan of Bradford, 6 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 9th from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where a prayer service will be heldĀ on Wednesday at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Bernard Church with Rev. Leo Gallina, pastor as Celebrant. Committal services and Military Honors will be accorded in McKean Memorial Park.
