Ricky Allen Haskins, 54, of Bradford, formerly of Callands VA, passed away Friday, February 19th, 2010 at his daughter’s residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 28, 1955, in Danville VA, he was a son of Allen and Nancy (Osborne) Haskins of Callands VA.
On October 5, 1973 in Gulfport MS he married Jacqueline Yohe who survives.
Mr. Haskins was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving four years as a military police dog trainer and handler. Upon his honorable discharge he attended the DuBois Vocational School of Trade for masonry.
He worked for Halliburton Well Services Corporation in Bradford and Casper WY. He later relocated to Callands VA and worked doing carpentry and masonry work until he retired.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially fishing with the grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his parents, is one daughter, Jennifer Myers of Bradford, two grandchildren: Megan Myers and Cody Myers both of Bradford, his fiancee Faye Martin of Martinsville VA, her grandchildren Logan and Taylor, four sisters: Carolyn (Bobby) Towler of Chatham VA, Sylvia (Roy) Swanson of Callands VA, Janice( Byron) Motley of Chatham VA, and Mary Haskin, of Callands VA, one brother Damen Ray Haskins of Callands VA, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday February 22, 2010 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. South Avenue, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. David Stains, pastor of the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. A second service will be held Sunday February 28th at 2:00pm in the Christian Tabernacle Church followed by military honors and committal services. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Callands VA.
