Viola J. Falconi, 81, of Lewis Run PA

Viola J. Falconi, 81, of 8 West Irvine St., Lewis Run, passed away Sunday, February 21st, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 16, 1928, in Lewis Run, she was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Mary L.  (Vecellio del Monego) Vecellio.

On January 31, 1948 in St. Bernard Church before Father J.P. Kennedy she married Anthony T. Falconi Jr. who survives.

Mrs. Falconi was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School. She had worked for many years as a waitress at the Holiday Inn, and later at the DeSoto Holiday House.

She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, and a member and responsible for the memorial fund for the Catholic Girls Club.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society Hill Street Honey’s, the Birthday Club, St. Francis 50+ Group, the Lewis Run Mutual Aid Auxiliary, and the Greater Bradford Area Senior Center. She volunteered at the Bradford Regional Medical Center,

Mrs. Falconi enjoyed frequent trips to the birth place of her parents in Auronzo di Cadore, Italy and she also enjoyed reading.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five daughters: Mary L. (Daniel) Chapman of Kennerdell, PA, Laurie (Stephen) Siffrinn of Bradford, Beverly F. (Duane Sherman) Schaming of Randolph, NY, Nancy  Gabel of Irvine, PA, and Judy (John) Massaro of Williamsville, NY, four sons, Thomas D. (Margo) Falconi of Lewis Run, James D. (Kathy) Falconi of Houston, TX,  Steven A. Falconi, and Pete J. Falconi both of Lewis Run, two brothers, Clayton V. Vecellio of Lewis Run, and Bruno A. Vecellio of Pine City, NY, six grandsons: Thomas D. “Chip” Falconi, Michael A. (Sharon) Chapman, David J. (Erika) Chapman, Jacob A. Falconi, Ryan A. Falconi, and Giovanni L. Massaro, seven granddaughters: Lisa A. Falconi, Nicole M. (Andy) Reid, Brittany O. Falconi, Lena R. Siffrinn, Lauren E. Falconi, Allie M. Falconi and Jayme M. Silvis, five great grandchildren: Kayla Phillips, Katherine Chapman, Natalie Chapman, Vera Reid, and Hannah Zapata, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Lena Frigo, two brothers Robert and Roger Vecellio, and one granddaughter Shannon M. Gabel

There will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Thursday February 25, 2010 in Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church with Father Samuel B. Slocum, pastor as Celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society  McKean Co. Unit  PO Box  67 Bradford, PA 16701 or Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Pastoral Care Department, Elm & Carlton Street, Buffalo, NY 14263 or VNA Hospice, The Pavilion @ BRMC, the Bradford Area Public Library, or a charity of the donors choice.
