Help is on the way for the approximately 70 people who will lose their jobs when Adelphoi Village in Potter County closes its doors on April 29. It’s uncertain what will happen at the Northern Tier Children’s Home property occupied by Adephoi for the past nine years.
Arrangements have been made to bring a state-sponsored “rapid response” team to the facility on Tuesday, March 9, to meet with the affected employees and help them to connect with available services. Experts on employment and related services from Pennsylvania CareerLink, unemployment compensation, and health insurance options will be part of the rapid response team.
Adelphoi Village provides treatment services to youths from dozens of counties in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware. Adelphoi Village receives referrals from juvenile probation and children’s services organizations.
