State Senator Joe Scarnati visited Potter County on Thursday, with several stops on his itinerary. He visited the Potter County Commissioners and met with Redevelopment Authority Executive Director John Wright. Scarnati, who is lieutenant governor and Republican leader of the State Senate, also stopped at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, where a $5.6 million expansion and renovation project is scheduled. He heard concerns from a local PennDOT official about damage that is occurring to state roads as a result of heavy truck traffic from natural gas drilling. Sen. Scarnati also stopped at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for discussions with CEO Ed Pitchford and a tour of the new physician assistant training program being held at the hospital in partnership with Lock Haven University.
