With Census Day (April 1) drawing closer, the U.S. Census Bureau of stepped up its hiring of temporary workers to fill various positions. “The part-time jobs offer good pay, good hours, paid training, and the ability to work close to home,” said Potter County Planning Director Charlotte Dietrich, who is heading up the county’s census awareness campaign. Pay ranges from $11.75 hourly for census takers to $13.25 for crew leaders. Applicants are required to take and pass a test, must be 18 or older, and must pass a background check.
