Joyce Elaine Moore of 824 S. Union Street Branch Extension, Olean, died Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at her home.
Born February 26, 1940 in West Hickory, PA, she was the daughter of Elliot E. and Edith R. Fanning Hurd. On October 25, 1958 at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean she married Maynard Nelson Moore, who predeceased her on October 9, 2002.
Mrs. Moore was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, painting, collecting dolls and angels.
Surviving are 3 sons Robert Moore of Olean, Richard Moore of Gowanda, Don Moore of Cuba; 1 daughter Bonnie Daughtry of Texas; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 5 sisters Barbara Foster, Elaine Zuba, Cynthia Hurd, Shirley Hurd, Evelyn Joyce; a brother Randy Hurd; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by 2 sisters Marian Cramer, Dorothy Cramer; a half brother John Hurd and half sister Sharon Hurd.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a prayer service on Saturday (March 13, 2010) at 10 am at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery in Port Allegany, PA.
