Evelyn G. Port, 91, of 318 Tionesta Avenue, died Tuesday morning (April 6, 2010) at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she was a recent resident.
Born May 22, 1918, in Kane, she was a daughter of Chester and Ada Hanson Hillard. On July 6, 1967, in Hazel Hurst, she married William D. Port who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Port had worked for over 25 years as a resistor inspector at Stackpole. She belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation in Kane.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Jim) Keller and Jacqueline (Charles) Mohney , both of Kane; two sons, James (Betty) Shrubb and Thomas (Dawn) Shrubb, both of Kane; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Elwood Hillard in Arizona and Raymond Hillard in Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by three brothers, Clarence Hillard and Clifton Hillard and Lester Hillard; and a sister, Marion Woll.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday with Jonathon Creamer officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
